We are an adult faith based Residential Discipleship Recovery Ministry, not a conventional rehab or treatment center. Utilizing a Regeneration approach to recovery, we offer spiritual solutions to those suffering from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders within a therapeutic community. Our program provides a long term treatment-like approach including non-medical detox, crisis stabilization and ongoing care. Residents begin engaging the recovery process in 12 step facilitation and discipleship training groups. We begin teaching that a meaningful connection with God through Jesus Christ can provide one with a long lasting recovery and a victorious quality of life that is not taught or accomplished through brief stays in traditional rehabs and treatment centers. Clients are introduced to the recovery community by attending outside self help meetings such as AA, NA, CA, Celebrate Recovery and others. Although our program is open ended and clients can remain with us indefinitely, current data shows that the most favorable results occur after 13 months of continuing care. We embrace the best the practices of medical, spiritual and 12 Step recovery models and work in conjunction with other clinicians and law enforcement to assure the most favorable outcomes.

His House Recovery Residence Atlanta has an open ended transitional living program where one has long term support for as long as one embraces sober living, remains current with program fees and gets along with the other House members. Recovery takes time. Here is a sober living home where one can take all the time one needs to heal, gain strength and succeed.

His House begins the transitional living process by helping meet our client\'s basic needs such as food, clothing, personal hygiene, healthcare. Clients entering the program who are still active in their disease, or not yet in recovery should first be non-medically detoxed if necessary and when possible. Detox for Alcohol or Benzodiazipines should be medically detoxed by a healthcare facility. Often this is accomplished by visiting an emergency room, physician, or a detox facility. These services will soon be rendered at our Bear Mountain Recovery facility in order to provide patients a seamless transition to recovery.

Once stabilized clients begin engaging life skills like education, discipleship, goal setting, communication skills, career choices, personal finances and family living. We stress personal responsibility and pride of ownership of one\'s person, place and things by assigning household chores, responsibilities and time tables for completion.

Like many halfway house programs, our recovery residence engages clients in community outreach and recreational activities like Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Celebrate Recovery meetings. Attendance and involvement in church related activites, mid-week Bible study groups, and group outings with family and other clients are a necessary part of our program. We encourage family involvement and permit day and overnight visits with family members, all of which should be therapeutic and teach our clients how to enjoy sober living without the presence of destructive substances, addiction and high-risk activities.
